The founder of Kord Information Systems, Annette Kord, started writing commercial applications in 1981. In 1994 Annette was contacted by Lani Uhry who was looking for some programming support for her Marina Management application known as The Marina Program v3, a relationship was started between Kord Information Systems and Computer Consultants.

In 2002 Computer Consultants again contracted with Kord Information Systems to create the next generation of The Marina Program. The Marina Program v4 was ready for general release in January 2004. The relationship between Computer Consultants and Kord Information Systems ended in April 2005 due to the untimely and tragic death of founder Lani Uhry.

In 2006 Annette accepted a position with Watch Captain, LLC to get The Marina Program back on track. This was accomplished and in Feb. 2009 after the successful completion of the first Marina Program User's conference, the relationship between Annette and Watch Captain was terminated at Watch Captain's request.

Spring forward to March 2010. Having worked in the Marina industry for more than a decade, thoroughly enjoying all the customers she had worked with, Annette decided to stay in the industry. Thanks to encouragement from a number of Marinas that she had worked with (you know who you are), Annette decided to create a better Marina Management Application using the latest .NET technology.
